This role is responsible for the short term and long term sales growth, gross margin and overall profitability of the Bioventus portfolio for the indirect markets across the APAC region. The role will work collaboratively with other functions within the business (marketing, finance, operations, regulatory, legal and compliance) to:

  • Create and implement business plans for new and existing markets
  • Review potential distributor / indirect partners
  • Manage existing partner relationships
  • Ensure we are working compliantly with local laws and regulations
  • Deliver and exceed against the business' financial targets, business strategy and product focus.

The role is ultimately responsible for driving and partnering with distributors to increase market share and attainment of financial goals. This role reports to the General Manager EMEA &APAC What you'll be doing

  • Partners with the General Manager and other Business leaders to deliver the strong performance against the annual budget and the long term strategy for the assigned markets.
  • Develops and executes strategic business plans for the distributor markets aligned with overall organization strategies.
  • Business plans include an environmental scan, competitive analysis and benchmark data, regulatory and compliance analysis and market trends. Plans are presented to leadership to provide product portfolio recommendations, sales forecasts and P&L budget .recommendations
  • Responsible for maintaining and negotiating contracts with exiting and potential partners.
  • Assesses current distributors for fit with country/regional strategies and makes recommendations to adjust where necessary.
  • Builds and maintains a strong network of distributors and HCP’s in markets of responsibility.
  • Brings multiple partner potentials to the negotiation table when entering new markets or changing distributors in current market.
  • Drives improved performance with new and current distributors through measurable activity and strategic investments.
  • Coordinates with Regulatory for product approvals in the individual countries.
  • Manages and coordinate Bioventus Tender process.
  • Member of the International Leadership Team.
  • Complete other tasks and duties as assigned by Manager.

What you'll bring to the table

  • Bachelor’s degree required and Masters level preferred;
  • Strong distributor management experience of 8+years in APAC within medical technology / ortho, especially Japan, Taiwan, ANZ, China, and India.
  • Significant leadership experience in navigating cultural differences across different key markets.
  • Track record of delivering double digit sales growth year over year.
  • Brings an existing network of distributors across the key markets in APAC.
  • Experience in project management: aid identification of individual projects that will support the business growth, collaborate with team on driving the actions and execution of each project, clearly define the measures that are in place and communicate outcomes on a monthly basis;
  • Fluent in Japanese, Mandarin and English.
  • Dynamic, proactive, results-oriented leadership with well-developed communication skills;
  • Hands on” management style; adaptable to a fast-paced, high-growth, changing environment.
