Sales Account Representative- Bilingual Preferred ( Korean / Japanese )

About the position At True World Foods, we are passionate about food, especially sushi, and we are looking for a dedicated Sales Account Representative to join our team in Livonia, MI. As the largest sushi and fresh fish provider in the world, we pride ourselves on our commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. This role is essential in developing and maintaining our existing customer base while also seeking new business opportunities. The ideal candidate will be bilingual in Korean and Japanese, allowing for effective communication with our diverse clientele. You will be responsible for regular communication with customers, ensuring their needs are met, and addressing any issues that arise promptly. Your role will involve taking customer orders with a focus on maximizing sales and gross profit, as well as following up on new prospects to maintain a healthy pipeline of potential clients. In this position, you will work closely with the sales and purchase director to achieve sales goals and will be expected to visit customers regularly to ensure satisfaction and meet sales targets. You will also need to be proactive in addressing customer problems and needs, reviewing daily stock levels, and implementing solutions to any issues that may arise. Training will be provided to enhance your sales skills and product knowledge, and you will be expected to participate in regular sales meetings. This role requires a self-motivated individual who can manage their time effectively without constant supervision, and who possesses strong customer relations skills. You will also need to adhere to food safety requirements to ensure the quality and safety of our products.

Responsibilities

  • Communicates on a regular basis under the direction of sales and purchase director to achieve sales goals

  • Communicates to customer base on a regular basis including visitation to ensure customer satisfaction and meet sales/profit goals

  • React timely to customer problems and needs

,

  • Taking customer orders with goals in mind: sales and Gross Profit $ maximization

,

  • Follows up on new prospects with introduction materials and visitation including completed credit application

,

  • Maintains a minimum number of active prospects

,

  • Cooperates with team members and works with department supervisors to reduce mistakes

,

  • Review daily out of stocks, shortages, transportations issues and implement solutions quickly

,

  • Attends periodic training to improve sales skills and knowledge, attends regular sales meetings

,

  • Implement 'Ask Early and Often' to control days sales outstanding (DSOs) and be aware of account financial health

,

  • Participate and coordinate communication between customer and A/R dept

,

  • Follows Food Safety (HACCP) requirements to ensure product safety and quality

,

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 1 year of experience in the food industry, preferably in sales or as a sushi chef

,

  • High school diploma or GED

,

  • Clean driving record

,

  • Food Safety Training

,

  • Bilingual in Korean and Japanese preferred

,

  • Strong customer relations skills

,

  • Self-motivated and accountable for time management

,

  • Ability to communicate professionally with outside parties, management, and team members

,

  • Knowledge of all product lines and consultative sales ability

,

  • Skill in using office computers and record keeping
