Job Summary

As a Customer Service Representative, you will be responsible for the general coordination and handling of new and reorder specialty medication requests. This includes verifying and updating benefits, assisting patients with deciphering and entering new or reordered medications into our pharmacy data system, collecting and processing copay amounts, obtaining approvals, and working with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and internal teams to screen, identify, resolve, and approve orders with sales or clinical issues. Your sublime communication skills will be essential in collaborating with insurance companies, patients, and internal partners to ensure timely processing of specialty medications and meet financial and clinical expectations.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide exceptional phone support to patients receiving life-saving specialty medication treatment

  • Coordinate and handle new and reorder specialty medication requests, including verifying and updating benefits
  • Assist patients with deciphering and entering new or reordered medications into our pharmacy data system
  • Collect and process copay amounts, obtain approvals, and work with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and internal teams to screen, identify, resolve, and approve orders with sales or clinical issues
  • Collaborate with insurance companies, patients, and internal partners to ensure timely processing of specialty medications and meet financial and clinical expectations
  • Utilize Windows-based applications, such as Windows, Microsoft Office, web navigation, and email applications, to manage patient information and resolve issues
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation

Essential Qualifications

* One year of experience in a customer service role, handling and resolving a high volume of complex customer needs via telephone

  • One year of work experience with Windows-based applications, such as Windows, Microsoft Office, web navigation, and email applications
  • One year of PC keyboarding experience, skills, and fitness
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

* Six months of experience handling a high volume of complex customer needs via telephone

  • Medical healthcare work experience and experience with benefits, insurance, medications, and clinical terminology

Skills and Competencies

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information
  • Proficiency in Windows-based applications, such as Windows, Microsoft Office, web navigation, and email applications
  • Strong keyboarding skills and accuracy
