Job Summary

We're seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will develop innovative products, contribute to project success, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement software solutions. Your expertise in full-stack development, particularly in front-end development, will be essential in building intuitive user interfaces, integrating with back-end services, and ensuring seamless user experiences across web applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and test software for Air Force-based products, focusing on front-end and back-end development, and ensuring efficient and scalable solutions.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, UX Designers, and engineers to design and develop software requirements, architectures, APIs, frameworks, and libraries.
  • Analyze and decompose activities and requirements into software designs, optimizing software architectures to deliver desired performance targets.
  • Stay informed about the latest software architectures, trends, and best practices, and contribute to the development of reference architectures and compliance standards.
  • Mentor junior engineers on troubleshooting techniques, design patterns, and testing strategies, and participate in code reviews and pair programming.
  • Implement and practice DevOps Enablement, and aid in making technical decisions to integrate systems with the cloud.

Requirements

  • Experience building modern front-end applications using frameworks like React.js, Node.js, and other JavaScript frameworks (e.g., Vue, Angular), or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, Java, and preferably one more programming language (Python, etc.), with strong knowledge of computer science fundamentals.
  • Experience integrating web applications with GraphQL and/or REST APIs, and familiarity with container technologies like Docker or Kubernetes.
  • Strong communication and soft skills, with excellent time management and organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively with remote development teams.
  • Must be eligible to obtain a minimum of a Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps tools and processes, such as Git, Concourse, GitLabCI, SonarQube, Fortify, and ThreadFix.
  • Experience with Scrum or other agile methodologies, and familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases.
  • Experience with backend runtimes and frameworks like Node.js, Spring, Spring Boot, Django, Flask, etc.
  • Experience authoring unit tests, integration tests, and journey tests in JavaScript, Java, or other languages.
