About Alumni Media

Alumni Media is a dynamic and innovative streaming network created, shaped, and hosted by alumni athletes. We offer a diverse range of high-quality, 24/7 lifestyle content, both original and curated, in various formats – short and long, live and recorded – all with an alumni connection. We are currently seeking talented interns to join our virtual team.

About the Role

As a YouTube Shorts Strategist Intern, you will play a vital role in supporting our marketing team by developing and executing social media strategies and campaigns. This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in digital marketing while contributing to our online presence and brand awareness. You will collaborate closely with our Social Media Manager and directly with our alumni hosts, working together on social media marketing, content creation, and distribution.

Key Responsibilities

  • YouTube Shorts Strategy: Create and publish engaging YouTube Shorts videos to promote our long-form content, using Shorts as a call-to-action to drive viewers to full-length videos. Develop captivating short-form content that encourages audience interaction and aligns with the release of long-form videos.
  • Social Media Engagement: Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and mentions on YouTube, fostering a friendly and professional interaction with our audience. Track social media metrics and assist in analyzing performance data to identify trends and insights for campaign improvement.
  • Community Building: Help build and nurture our online community by fostering meaningful interactions with followers, influencers, and potential customers. Identify and engage with relevant social media users and influencers to expand our brand's reach and visibility.
  • Content Calendar & Planning: Contribute to the development and maintenance of a social media content calendar, ensuring a consistent posting schedule and timely content delivery. Schedule and publish posts on social media platforms using appropriate scheduling tools. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and social media best practices to suggest innovative ideas and strategies.
  • Research & Analysis: Conduct market research to identify how to maximize the athletes' social presence and brand, as well as social media trends and new opportunities for our brand's growth.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with major social media platforms and an active personal presence on these platforms.
  • Basic understanding of social media management tools and analytics platforms (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer, Google Analytics).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to grammar and spelling.
  • Creativity and the ability to think outside the box for content ideation.
  • Enthusiastic, proactive, and a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
  • Time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of graphic design and video editing tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc.) is a plus.
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Communications, Business, Marketing, or a related field.

To Apply

Please submit your resume and a cover letter outlining your interest in the internship and any relevant coursework, projects, or work experience to Giovanna Scroggins at [email protected].

We encourage you to apply, even if you don't feel like a perfect match! We are looking for great people to join our friendly team.
