Lead Mobile Software Engineer (Remote)

We are seeking a talented and passionate Lead Mobile Software Engineer to join our innovative G4DEV team at Allegiant Air! In this role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping the next generation of our applications, supporting our e-commerce, hospitality, and airline operations systems. You'll work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment focused on delivering impactful solutions through innovation, agility, and continuous learning.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a medium to large mobile development team, supporting a Development Manager in driving software projects from requirements gathering through deployment.
  • Own the full lifecycle of technical deliverables, including requirements evaluation, design, implementation, QA support, and deployment, with minimal supervision.
  • Identify and plan for new features in collaboration with diverse engineering teams.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to innovate mobile application design and functionality.
  • Design and develop application programming interfaces (APIs) to support mobile applications.
  • Adapt existing web applications for mobile consumption.
  • Work with customers to understand their needs and enhance their experience.
  • Stay current with mobile app development trends, technologies, and best practices.
  • Provide support for testing and troubleshooting mobile applications.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of software development experience as a professional mobile engineer.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience architecting and building multi-tiered, scalable, fault-tolerant, highly available, and globally distributed mobile applications (iOS and/or Android).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in iOS and/or Android testing and debugging.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and prioritization abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Demonstrated proficiency in core computer science principles (OOP, MVC, MVVM, and/or functional programming).
  • Experience building mobile applications that consume APIs (GraphQL, REST, SOAP, etc.).
  • Strong ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey ideas and collaborate effectively.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to meeting deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the airline and/or hospitality industries.
  • Experience in e-commerce.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments.
