Join the Magic: Full-Time Costume Specialist Wanted at Walt Disney World

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Full-Time Costume Specialist to join our team at Walt Disney World. As a Costume Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting the costuming needs of our entertainment offerings, ensuring that every performer looks their best on stage. This is an exciting opportunity to work behind the scenes with a world-class entertainment company and be a part of creating unforgettable experiences for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

• Transport garments to on-property or off-property sites utilizing company vehicles, including box trucks
• Assist with costume fittings, including dressing performers and using technology components
• Perform small hand-sewing repairs and alterations to maintain costume quality
• Manage costume inventory, including receiving, storing, and issuing costumes and accessories
• Collaborate with the costume team to ensure costume show quality and maintain high standards
• Work with various materials, including synthetic fabrics, glues, and epoxies
• Pack and ship costumes with attention to detail, ensuring timely delivery to performers

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• To be at least 18 years of age
• A valid US Driver's license
• Flexibility to work a variety of shift times, including overnight hours, holidays, and weekends
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work at elevations up to 30 feet
• Willingness to drive company vehicles, including box trucks, and operate heavy equipment

Preferred Qualifications:

While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

• Costuming experience in a theatrical or themed entertainment capacity
• Experience supporting the costuming needs of performers
• Knowledge of character or mascot building and dressing
• Familiarity with packing and shipping logistics and paperwork
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Smartsheet, and SharePoint
