Location: Tucson, AZ (Northwest Campus)

Job Type: Temporary, Part-time (up to 19.5 hours per week)

Compensation: $13.85 - $18.35/hour

Start Date: Immediate openings available

Position Summary:

Responsibilities:

• Provide instructional tutoring and assistance with basic concepts, specific problems, homework, test preparation, and effective use of textbooks and instructional materials in virtual and in-person environments.
• Help students develop effective study skills to increase their academic success and independence.
• Offer encouragement and support to students in areas of self-confidence, study habits, and time management.
• Report any problems or concerns with equipment or materials to the Learning Center Personnel.
• Establish effective and cooperative relationships with diverse student and employee populations.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Proven classroom excellence (grade A or B) in the subject(s) to be tutored.
• Written Faculty recommendation for the subject(s) to be tutored OR vetting of content knowledge.
• Tutors must complete CRLA Level 1 certification within one year of employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Tutoring experience.
• Comfort tutoring multiple subjects.

Physical Requirements:

• Positions in this class typically require: talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.

Subjects Needed:

• Engineering.
• Mathematics (through Calculus).
• Chemistry (through Organic).
• Physics.
