Transcriptionist II

About the position The Transcriptionist II position at Sonic Anatomic Pathology involves performing final dictation entry formatting and ensuring accurate documentation of patient test results. The role requires strong typing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. This full-time position offers remote work options and is focused on supporting the health and wellbeing of communities through clinical laboratory solutions. Responsibilities • Perform final dictation entry formatting, including microscopic description, final diagnosis, and comment fields. , • Assign appropriate pathologist to each case. , • Document case holds generated by transcription. , • Assign ICD codes on derm cases. , • Edit fee codes. , • Designate Cancer call and Special Event cases in CoPath. , • Follow laboratory procedures for processing, reporting, and maintaining records of patient test results. , • Adhere to all quality control/quality assurance policies and procedures and document all quality control activities. , • Identify problems that may adversely affect reporting of results and document all corrective actions taken. , • Assist in the proper storage and maintenance of all records when needed. Requirements • Must have at least a high school diploma or equivalent. , • Minimum one year experience as a pathology transcriptionist or medical transcription experience. , • Knowledge of medical terminology. , • Effective oral and written communication skills via telephone, e-mail, and in person. , • Grammar and proofreading skills. , • Attention to detail and accuracy. , • Ability to take the initiative and work independently and within a team. , • Customer service driven.
