Become a part of our caring community and help us put health first The Mail Operations Pharmacist 2 (VSP/PT) is a registered Pharmacist who is responsible for the accurate and timely dispensing of prescribed medication to patients. The Mail Operations Pharmacist 2 (VSP/PT) work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action. This position is part of the Variable Staffing Pool (VSP) and can have a range of scheduled hours each week. The Mail Operations Pharmacist 2 (VSP/PT) ensures adherence to quality assurance standards, accurate tracking techniques and a review process prior to shipping medications to patients. Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas. Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed. Follows established guidelines/procedures. Responsibilities

  • Dispense prescribed medications accurately and timely.
  • Ensure adherence to quality assurance standards and maintain accurate tracking techniques.
  • Review processes prior to shipping medications to patients.
  • Interpret department, segment, and organizational objectives and apply them to daily work.
  • Make decisions regarding own work methods, including in ambiguous situations, with minimal direction.
  • Follow established guidelines and procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors of Pharmacy or PharmD degree from an accredited college of pharmacy
  • Licensed as a PHARMACIST in state of residence (AZ, FL, OH or TX ONLY)
  • Ability to participate in Federal prescription programs
  • Self-directed, but also able to work well in a group
  • Ability to solve problems and encourage others in collaborative problem solving
  • Work ethic that is focused, accurate, and highly productive
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficient with computers
  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 or more years experience in a high volume community or mail order pharmacy practice environment

Additional Information Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required. Scheduled Weekly Hours 1 Pay Range The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting.
