Experienced Customer Accounts Representative I – Utility Billing and Customer Service

Job Summary:

As a Customer Accounts Representative I at arenaflex, you'll be responsible for managing customer accounts, processing billing and payment information, and providing exceptional customer service. You'll work closely with our Customer Accounts Supervisor and other departments to ensure seamless communication and efficient operations. Key Responsibilities:

* Operate data entry terminals and software reports to prepare and process water, electric, gas, sewer, and refuse billing, as well as all CNS services

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records, ensuring timely and efficient access to information
  • Investigate and resolve billing errors, discrepancies, and complaints in a professional and courteous manner
  • Verify, sort, and distribute final bills on a weekly basis, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Handle various work orders related to assigned cycles, keeping customer accounts updated and current
  • Send out service orders for verification prior to billing cycles, ensuring seamless communication with customers and service technicians
  • Receive and respond to billing complaints from utility customers, preparing complaint listings for meter verification and resolution
  • Add new service customers and close out old customers, maintaining accurate records and ensuring seamless transitions
  • Maintain monthly checks and balances with customers set up on budget billing and special contracts, ensuring accurate and timely payments
  • Assist with dispatching work orders to service technicians and answer inspection calls, providing exceptional customer service and support
  • Communicate effectively with various departments to address customer account questions and concerns
  • Complete monthly rotated assigned tasks to update special billing reports, such as the General ledger and Adjustments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness

Essential Qualifications:

* High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred

  • 1-2 years of experience in customer service, data entry, or a related field
  • Proficiency in data entry software applications, including Microsoft Office and Google Suite
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers, colleagues, and management
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of accuracy and productivity

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience in utility billing or customer service, with knowledge of utility regulations and procedures

  • Certification in customer service or a related field, such as the Certified Customer Service Representative (CCSR) designation
  • Proficiency in software applications, including utility billing systems and customer relationship management (CRM) tools
  • Experience working in a team environment, with a focus on collaboration and communication
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet customer needs and support business operations
