The Difference You Will Make
As a Staff Engineer, you'll work cross-functionally with product, design, and other engineering counterparts to execute on product and business strategy. You'll drive, lead, and contribute to the full development cycle, from technical design to launch, and nurture a culture of technical quality from design through code review to production operations. Your expertise will be essential in shaping the technical vision and delivering flexible, efficient, and scalable solutions that meet the needs of our customers.
A Typical Day
As a Staff Engineer on our Chatbot Product team, you'll have the opportunity to work on a wide range of exciting projects that combine AI capabilities with the expertise of our support ambassadors. Here are some examples of what a typical day might look like:
* Work cross-functionally with product, design, and other engineering counterparts to execute on product and business strategy
* Drive, lead, and contribute to the full development cycle: technical design, development, test, experimentation, analysis, and launch
* Review code and design docs, give feedback on product specs and mocks
* Nurture a culture of technical quality from design through code review to production operations
Your Expertise
To succeed in this role, you'll need to have a strong foundation in software development, with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience in a fast-paced tech environment. Here are some of the key skills and qualifications we're looking for:
* Strong expertise with backend systems in service-oriented architectures
* Experience with frontend or full-stack development
* Experience with chatbot/AI product would be a plus
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team and with teams across the engineering, product & design organizations
* Passionate about efficiency, availability, technical quality, and system quality
* Love for collaborating via code reviews and architecture discussions, and are motivated to improve their teammates' productivity
* Bachelor's and/or Master's/PhD degree, preferably in CS, or equivalent experience
Your Location

How We'll Take Care Of You
We offer a competitive salary range of $204,000—$259,000 USD, as well as bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits. Our job titles may span more than one career level, and the actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands.
