The Office of the New York State Comptroller is seeking an Administrative Specialist 1 to provide professional, administrative, and staff support. The role involves overseeing human resources, procurement, and office space activities, as well as assisting with budget preparation and administration.
Responsibilities
- Provide professional, administrative, and staff support effectively and efficiently to LGSA by overseeing and handling the Division’s human resources, procurement and office space activities
- Assists with annual budget preparation and administration
- Prepares various reports and analytics for Division and Agency Executive Management, including staffing and office space modifications
- Oversees office support activities
- Properly handles and maintains Unit records and confidential information
Skills
- A bachelor's degree or higher; OR
- An associate's degree AND two (2) years of qualifying experience
- Four (4) years of qualifying experience
- A master's degree or higher; OR
- A bachelor's degree AND one (1) year of qualifying experience
- An associate's degree AND three (3) years of qualifying experience
- Five (5) years of qualifying experience
- A doctorate; OR
- A master's degree AND one (1) year of qualifying experience
- A bachelor's degree AND two (2) years of qualifying experience
- An associate's degree AND four (4) years of qualifying experience
- Six (6) years of qualifying experience
- Performing or overseeing budget, human resources, and business services activities for an organization or program
- You must be currently reachable on the appropriate eligible list for this title, eligible under the 55 b/c program, or eligible to transfer to this title under Section 70.1, 52.6, or 70.4 of the Civil Service Law
- For 70.1, 52.6, or 70.4 transfer to Administrative Specialist 1, SG-18, you must have one year of permanent competitive, or 55-b/55-c service in an approved title for transfer allocated to a SG-16 or above; SG-12 or above for Trainee 1, SG-14 or above for Trainee 2, depending on qualifications
- Appointments via transfer must not result in a second, consecutive transfer with an advancement of more than two S-grades or one M-grade
- Depending on qualifications, you may be required to serve a 1 or 2-year traineeship that leads to the full level grade 18 position
- This position may be designated 55 b/c and is subject to verification of applicant eligibility
