Job Summary

We're seeking an experienced Medical Data Entry Specialist/Billing Clerk to join our remote team. As a key member of our billing department, you'll be responsible for accurate and efficient data entry, claim submission, and patient information verification. Your expertise in medical billing software, electronic health record systems, and insurance claim submission processes will be invaluable in ensuring seamless operations. Key Responsibilities

As a Medical Data Entry Specialist/Billing Clerk, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Accurate and efficient data entry of patient information into our computer system
  • Verifying patient information in the system to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Checking payer portals for claims status and resubmitting claims as necessary
  • Following HIPAA guidelines to provide medical records to primary care providers, insurance carriers, referred providers, and patients per patient request
  • Participating in team-oriented tasks, including assisting coworkers, meeting deadlines, and contributing to team goals
  • Maintaining a high level of productivity and accuracy in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • At least 1 year of medical experience, preferably in billing or data entry
  • Proficiency in medical billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems
  • Knowledge of insurance claim submission processes and familiarity with various payer guidelines
  • Experience working with Medicaid is highly desirable
  • Strong references from past employers and a proven track record of tenure
  • High School Diploma or GED required

Preferred Qualifications
