The California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) is seeking an Auditor I to join their Audits & Investigations team. This role involves assisting with compliance, financial, and management audits to verify the accuracy and validity of payments to healthcare providers in California's Medi-Cal program.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with compliance, financial and/or management audits
  • Conduct in-house desk audits and field audits
  • Verify payments to providers and their reported costs for compliance with governing laws and regulations

Skills

  • Current version of the State Examination/Employment Application STD Form 678 (when not applying electronically), or the Electronic State Employment Application through your Applicant Account at www.CalCareers.ca.gov. All Experience and Education relating to the Minimum Qualifications listed on the Classification Specification should be included to demonstrate how you meet the Minimum Qualifications for the position
  • Resume is optional. It may be included, but is not required
  • Individuals who claim list eligibility must have reachable placement on the appropriate certification list for a classification they apply to
  • This position requires the incumbent to have and maintain good rapport, consistent and regular attendance, communicate effectively both orally and in writing in dealing with the public and/or other employees
  • Accounting Degree/Coursework
  • Enthusiastic and self-motivated, good work ethic, and attention to detail
  • Good communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Strong work ethic and ability to persevere
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft products such as Excel, Word, and Teams
  • Analytical, independently makes decisions on supportable facts
  • Professional and organized
  • Good time-management
