Civil-Structural Engineer, Junior
Tetra Tech is a leader in water, environment, and sustainable infrastructure, providing high-end consulting and engineering services for projects worldwide. They are seeking a Junior Civil-Structural Engineer for their Tampa, Florida office to prepare engineering deliverables, develop conceptual studies, and conduct field site inspections to ensure compliance with design specifications.
Responsibilities
- Prepare engineering deliverables for equipment support structures, foundations, site grading, access roads, and site drainage
- Develop conceptual studies, plans, maps, and layouts for civil-structural projects
- Review and interpret topographic surveys and geotechnical investigation reports
- Perform technical calculations, material take-offs, and feasibility estimates
- Conduct field site inspections to monitor project progress and ensure compliance with design specifications
- Estimate project materials, equipment, and labor costs to support feasibility analysis
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil-Structural Engineering
- Knowledge of civil/structural engineering principles, practices, and design methods
- Proficiency in computer-based design tools
- 1-3 years of related experience (co-op or work experience in electrical substations or transmission line projects is preferred)
- Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer in Training is preferred
- Experience with STAAD.Pro, MathCAD, and/or PLS-CADD is an asset
