Associate Director of Biostatistics (Remote from North Carolina)

In this pivotal leadership role, you will guide a team of biostatisticians in the design, analysis, and interpretation of clinical studies within the oncology domain. You will play a key part in advancing innovative molecular diagnostic programs, ensuring scientific rigor and high-quality statistical deliverables. - Lead and mentor a team of biostatisticians, overseeing their deliverables, growth, and professional development.
- Direct biostatistical contributions to oncology clinical validation projects, ensuring scientific rigor and actionable insights.
- Develop and implement novel statistical methods and simulation approaches to support innovative study designs.
- Produce, review, and standardize high-quality documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
- Identify risks, communicate concerns, and propose solutions within cross-functional project teams.
- Manage collaborations with CROs, including contracts, deliverables, and performance oversight.
- Continuously improve team efficiency and effectiveness through process enhancements and innovative techniques.
Requirements
- Advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Biostatistics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
- 7+ years of experience in clinical trial biostatistics, preferably within oncology.
- Strong expertise in survival analysis, censoring, and other advanced statistical techniques.
- Experience in study design innovation, power calculations, and simulation approaches.
- Proven track record in mentoring and developing junior staff.
- Excellent communication skills to clearly convey complex statistical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams and foster a high-performing, inclusive environment.
- Familiarity with NGS, ctDNA, and molecular oncology preferred.
