Job Responsibilities

As a Behavioral Technician with blithequark, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, providing one-on-one ABA therapy to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other related conditions. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing one-on-one in-home ABA therapy to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other related conditions
  • Collecting behavior and skill acquisition data during sessions
  • Conducting discrete trials, implementing behavior support, and treatment plans
  • Working collaboratively with a BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) Supervisor to implement basic principles and teaching procedures of ABA therapy
  • Being responsive to the needs and requests of clients, their families, and supervisors
  • Being goal-oriented and maintaining professionalism in all aspects of your work
  • Arriving on time and being prepared for therapy sessions

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A Bachelor's Degree or working towards your degree in a related field (Psychology, Education, or Sociology) preferred
  • Experience working with children for 1 year in a 1:1 setting
  • 1-year ABA Experience
  • If no direct ABA experience, 1-2 years working as a Special Education Assistant, Paraprofessional, Direct Support Professional, Medical Assistant, Autism Experience, Teacher's Assistant, or ABA Tutor in a school or home setting
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Personal means of transportation with a reliable vehicle

Physical Requirements

As a Behavioral Technician, you must be able to:

  • Lift up to 35lbs
  • Perform activities that entail fine and gross motor skills, bend, kneel, squat, sitting on floor level or in a chair, or standing for periods of time
  • Respond quickly in short distances (100 feet) in response to the movements and behaviors of children
  • Work in both indoor and outdoor settings
