Key Responsibilities

As a Customer Service Representative with Blithequark, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Issuing, reissuing, and refunding traveler tickets
  • Booking, ticketing, and confirming flight reservations
  • Rebooking travelers on oversold flights and during irregular operations
  • Performing traveler check-in and boarding tasks, including correcting oversold seat assignments and issuing upgrades
  • Issuing vouchers and coordinating with ground handlers for traveler accommodations, meals, and transportation
  • Performing traveler loading, including ticketing and checking
  • Working entryway readers/scanners and related tasks, including pre-boarding, observing/checking carry-on items, and managing departure lines
  • Working jetways/bridges for boarding and deplaning travelers
  • Making boarding and departure gate announcements
  • Conveying domestic/international flight records
  • Performing customer service flight close-out procedures
  • Accepting, checking, and labeling travelers' baggage at destination points, full-service ticket counters, and premium ticket counters
  • Maintaining a schedule of flight loading processes
  • Performing customer service hands-on training
  • Processing and completing credit card baggage transfers at stands in the ticket counter area and activation stations
  • Assisting travelers with self-service kiosk check-in and baggage handling at ticket counters
  • Managing lines at ticket counter stands and ticket counters
  • Clearing/confirming international records at booths in the ticket counter area and activation stations
  • Accepting and activating travelers' self-labeled bags at activation stations
  • Assisting customers requiring special assistance or in-station help, including boarding, deplaning, and shipping non-ambulatory travelers, special assistance travelers, or unaccompanied minors
  • Performing customer service work related to handling regional flights and ground handling arrangements or agreements
  • Having regular and predictable attendance on-site, including meeting any obligatory overtime requirements
  • Answering and assisting during security and emergency situations
  • Providing connecting traveler door information
  • Providing quality customer service in a professional manner and in accordance with American's standards

What You'll Need for Success

To excel as a Customer Service Representative with Blithequark, you'll need:

  • A bachelor's degree and prior professional training
  • Bilingual language skills, depending on the location
  • A valid driver's license, as required by local authorities
  • The ability to pass FAA background checks to meet requirements for unescorted access to airport security identification display areas (SIDA), if applicable
  • The ability to obtain proper airport power and US Customs security identification, if necessary
  • Completion of a pre-employment drug screen, comprehensive background check, or fingerprinting to meet organizational and security requirements
  • The ability to work in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • Training and prior professional experience
  • Working knowledge of Sabre or other Traveler Service Systems
  • Past face-to-face customer service experience
