Who We Are

At Certn, we’re revolutionizing background screening with The World’s Easiest Background Check — fast, global, and powered by tech. We’re not about outdated processes and red tape. We’re about innovation, speed, and impact. If you’re looking for a place where ownership, collaboration, and creativity thrive, this is it.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for an Intermediate Dev Ops Engineer who thrives on operational reliability and continuous improvement. You’ll play a key role in maintaining and enhancing our AWS infrastructure and CI/CD systems, supporting Certn’s fast-paced product teams. The intermediate DevOps Engineer will help design and implement scalable, reliable, and secure infrastructure and deployment pipelines while collaborating with cross-functional teams to establish and follow DevOps best practices. You will also support efficient infrastructure and operations management, including cloud infrastructure deployment, monitoring, observability, disaster recovery, and compliance - helping ensure reliable and efficient delivery of Certn’s cloud-native applications at scale and enhancing developer experience.

What You’ll Do
  • Manage and improve our existing AWS-based infrastructure and GitHub Actions pipelines

  • Support CI/CD automation, infrastructure-as-code practices, and developer productivity

  • Maintain system observability through monitoring, alerting, logging, and tracing tools

  • Collaborate with developers to troubleshoot build and deployment issues

  • Assist with compliance, disaster recovery, and infrastructure documentation

  • Work alongside DevOps peers in North America and the UK

  • Contribute to a culture of reliability, security, and continuous improvement

What You Bring
  • Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services

  • Working knowledge of GitHub Actions and CI/CD pipeline tools

  • Experience with Terraform or CloudFormation (infrastructure-as-code)

  • Understanding of observability practices (monitoring, alerting, logging, tracing)

  • 2–4 years in DevOps, Site Reliability, or similar roles

  • Familiarity with deploying SaaS or distributed systems

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, agile team

Why You Should Be Excited
  • Flexibility: Remote-first role with teammates across North America and the UK

  • Impact & Growth: Contribute to critical infrastructure that supports high-growth products

  • Global Collaboration: Partner with experienced engineers in multiple regions

  • Compensation: Competitive salary, benefits, and generous time off

  • Culture: Collaborative, async-friendly, and innovation-focused
