Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accounting Analyst to join our Corporate Accounting Group. As a Senior Financial Accounting Analyst, you will be responsible for providing expert financial accounting support, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive business growth. This is a remote data entry position that offers a competitive hourly rate of $28-$30 per hour.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Financial Accounting Analyst, you will be responsible for the following key responsibilities:
- Financial Statement Preparation: Aid in the preparation of general ledger accounts and the month-end close cycle connected with corporate accounting, including the preparation and review of journal entries for intercompany transactions, intercompany allocations, and related party transactions.
- Financial Analysis: Plan and review compromises for key accounts on a monthly or quarterly basis and perform variance analyses to identify areas for improvement.
- Intercompany Transactions: Review intercompany accounts, address any out-of-balance issues, and work with intercompany payments.
- Related Party Transactions: Track related party transactions throughout the fiscal year and perform valuation analyses to determine whether related party transactions are at arm's length.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with the Substance Money, Legal, and other teams within Controllership to obtain necessary supporting documentation.
- Special Projects: Work directly with the Manager, Corporate Accounting on special projects and initiatives.
- Budget Preparation: Aid in the preparation of Hulu's budget summaries through the planning of financial schedules and references.
- Research and Training: Research specialized accounting questions and prepare accounting memoranda to report changes in accounting treatment.
- Audit Support: Help to oversee internal and external audits by working with requests and planning status meetings.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:
- 3+ years of accounting experience: You will need to have a minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, with a strong understanding of US GAAP.
- Microsoft Office Suite: You will need to have high-level working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: You will need to have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex accounting issues.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: You will need to have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
- Team-Oriented: You will need to have a team-oriented perspective, with a positive attitude and a willingness to collaborate with others.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
- Public and Private Sector Experience: A blend of public and private sector experience would be beneficial in this role.
- SAP Experience: Experience with SAP would be an asset in this role.
- Entertainment or Technology Industry Experience: Experience in the entertainment or technology industry would be beneficial in this role.
- CPA License: A CPA license would be an asset in this role.
Required Education
You will need to have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
