We're looking for a talented Senior Data Engineer to join our team and help us drive innovation and growth.

About the Role

As a Senior Data Engineer at Amazon, you'll be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining large-scale data systems that support our business operations. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to identify business needs and develop solutions that meet those needs. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the quality, scalability, and reliability of our data systems, and you'll be expected to mentor and guide junior engineers to help them grow and develop their skills.

Key Responsibilities

* Design and build large-scale data systems using a variety of technologies, including cloud-based platforms, data warehouses, and data lakes

  • Develop and maintain data pipelines, ETL processes, and data quality checks to ensure data accuracy and integrity
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business needs and develop solutions that meet those needs
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers to help them grow and develop their skills
  • Peer review code and provide feedback to ensure high-quality development practices
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in data engineering and apply that knowledge to improve our systems and processes

Essential Qualifications

* 3+ years of non-temporary position experience in software development, with a focus on data engineering

  • 3+ years of experience in designing and building large-scale data systems, including data warehouses, data lakes, and data pipelines
  • Experience with at least one programming language, such as Java, Python, or C++
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, data governance, and data quality principles
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex problems and develop creative solutions
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications

* 3+ years of experience in the full software development life cycle, including coding guidelines, code reviews, source control management, build cycles, testing, and deployment

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Experience with cloud-based platforms, such as AWS or Azure
  • Experience with data engineering tools and technologies, such as Apache Beam, Apache Spark, or Apache Flink
  • Strong understanding of data security and compliance principles, with experience in implementing data security measures and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
