Job Summary

As a Full Stack Item Designer in the Development Notices Group, you will play a critical role in shaping the Netflix product through personalized notifications and email experiences. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, data science, and engineering, to design and develop features that drive user engagement and growth. Your expertise in full-stack development, A/B testing, and data analysis will help inform product decisions and optimize user experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop features that drive user growth and engagement through strategic notifications and email experiences
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, data science, and engineering, to inform product decisions and optimize user experiences
• Conduct A/B testing and data analysis to measure the effectiveness of notifications and email experiences
• Develop and maintain large-scale, highly scalable backend systems to support frontend experiences
• Work with engineers to integrate with various backend systems, including core membership services, billing, and content management
• Design and develop reusable, templated systems for notifications and email experiences
• Ensure seamless integration with existing in-house email systems and infrastructure

Requirements

Essential Qualifications:

• Experience in developing customer-facing applications through A/B testing and experimentation
• Proficiency in Java or other object-oriented languages
• Knowledge of JavaScript or TypeScript
• Front-end web development experience with CSS, Backtalk/LESS, and a current JavaScript framework
• Experience writing SQL queries on large data platforms (SparkSQL, Voila, Hive, etc.)
• Ability to design intuitive and extensible APIs
• Experience creating reusable, templated systems

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience building backend systems to power frontend experiences
• Experience working with product development teams
• Experience building streams using various channels like Push, SMS, messaging applications, and In-App messaging experiences
• Experience with restriction frameworks and ICU localization
• Experience in creating Responsive and Intuitive HTML or AMP Email Development
• Experience building large-scale, highly scalable gRPC services
