Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Media Partnerships Manager to oversee the strategic development and execution of media campaigns across linear, digital, and social platforms within the SA Rugby ecosystem.

In partnership with DSTV, this role will be pivotal in designing and delivering compelling multi-channel packages that deliver value for sponsors and align with SA Rugby’s commercial objectives. In addition where SA Rugby matches are sub-licensed to SABC the same set of skills will be required in working with the public broadcaster.

Key Responsibilities

  • Campaign Development & Packaging
    • Collaborate with DSTV to define innovative, multi-platform sponsorship packages across SA Rugby inventory.
    • Ensure packages integrate linear, digital, and social elements with a focus on both brand visibility and performance marketing opportunities.
    • Leverage DSTV and SARU-owned channels, as well as relevant third-party platforms, to create high-impact media offerings.
  • Partner Engagement & Sales Support
    • Co-present media packages to partners alongside DSTV representatives.
    • Liaise with partners and media agencies to manage inquiries, bookings, and custom media solutions.
    • Role may stretch to additional partnership management support as and when required through the season.
  • Campaign Delivery & Execution
    • Coordinate the approval process for all partner creatives with SARU and ensure timely delivery to DSTV media teams.
    • Monitor deadlines and ensure all media bookings are executed seamlessly.
  • Media Fund Administration
    • Oversee administrative processes related to Media Fund allocations in collaboration with SA Rugby and partner finance teams.
  • Performance Reporting
    • Contribute to post-campaign reporting by providing data and insights on audience reach, media value, and campaign effectiveness.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in media planning, sponsorship, or partnership management, preferably within sports or broadcasting sectors.
  • Strong understanding of multi-platform media campaigns (TV, digital, social).
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and partner relationships.
  • Proficient in campaign analytics, media value reporting, and creative approvals processes.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
