Software Test Engineer

We are seeking a Software Test Engineer with extensive operational experience of the Logistics, and specifically Warehousing, domains to join our team in Leicester on a permanent basis. This role offers a chance to make a significant impact in a dynamic and expanding environment, helping to ensure the quality delivery of our WMS product and helping support the Development Team in their domain knowledge and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define test plans based on user stories, operational test cases and acceptance criteria.
  • Collaborate with and support colleagues within the team to achieve our common quality and delivery goals.
  • Liaise with customers and stakeholders during functional and operational acceptance tests.
  • Manual testing of the product.
  • Verify compliance of our WMS product to internal and external quality standards.
  • Prepare, review, revise, and maintain technical and user documentation.
  • Assist the Test Lead in recommending, trialing and implementing improvements to our testing processes and procedures.
  • Proven experience in the logistics industry.
  • A working knowledge of WMS systems, preferably “superuser” type experience such as the configuration, testing & implementation of WMS software.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with a detail-oriented approach.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, to both your colleagues and customers at a non-technical level.
  • Focus on teamwork and winning as a team.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in testing software.
  • Able to demonstrate a “right first time” approach.
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach to learning and adopting new processes to strive for continual improvement.
  • Experience of working in a SCRUM team or other Agile development methods.
  • Understanding of Software Test Design techniques.
  • Understanding of problem management processes.
  • Experience of working within standardized models (IEEE 829).
