Job Description

Position Overview: Do you have a deep understanding of mathematics? Do you enjoy creating digital learning experiences for students? Nearpod is looking for a temporary math curriculum writer who can connect the power of digital learning and mathematics. The project you will be working on will involve creating and reviewing dozens of activities, which we anticipate taking 6 months to complete. During this contract, you will develop and write Nearpod activities that leverage a range across the depth of knowledge skills needed for students to interact with math. Temporary Assignment - 6 month Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Has instructional design experience for an Ed-Tech Company or at a District/School-Wide Level; mathematics preferred.
  • Has an understanding of standards, pedagogy and instructional design; Our strong preference is for a candidate with experience with elementary mathematics.
  • Leverages technology to create meaningful and effective digital learning experiences.
  • Approaches education through an equity lens and through culturally responsive teaching practices.
  • Takes a creative approach to curriculum—crafting content for students that is engaging, effective, and inclusive of all learners.
  • Is detail-oriented and values high-quality work.
  • Is trusted for follow-through, efficiency, and adherence to deadlines.
  • Enjoys collaborating with a team committed to inspiring young learners and educators.
  • Has interest in the unique needs of K-12 students, teachers, and administrators and passion about ed-tech solutions and Nearpod’s content and product.

We are seeking a hardworking, self-motivated candidate to perform the following functions:

  • Develop, create, review, and optimize engaging ready-to-use activities and additional curriculum resources for K-8 students across mathematics.
  • Maximize Nearpod’s interactive features to engage teachers and learners.
  • Align resources to Common Core and specific state standards.
  • Deliver projects on-time and within scope.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience with curriculum writing, preferably as a freelancer for an educational technology company in the area of elementary mathematics
  • Previous experience as a K-12 mathematics educator with knowledge of pedagogy, standards, and instructional design
  • Empathy and effective communication and collaboration skills
  • A love of learning and a growth mindset
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Proficient in Google Slides
