Lead Network Security Engineer - Palo Alto

We are seeking an experienced senior network security engineer with a strong background in designing, implementing, and managing complex network security architectures. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of industry experience, with specific expertise in Palo Alto Firewall (PAFW) and Cisco Firepower systems, and related Cloud based management tools. Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage secure network architecture for large-scale enterprise environments
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive security policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security solutions into existing infrastructure
  • Troubleshoot complex security issues related to PAN FW and Cisco Firepower systems
  • Provide expert-level support for firewall configuration, optimization, and maintenance
  • Work within a ticket system to review and implement security rules per best practices and company policy. Also work on technical issues.
  • Participate in PCI, SOC, etc. audits
  • Support remote access solutions
  • Develop and maintain documentation of network architecture, security policies, and procedures

Requirements:

  • At least 10 years of experience in network security engineering with a focus on firewalls (PANFW and Cisco Firepower)
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience designing, implementing, and managing Palo Alto Firewall systems
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience designing, implementing, and managing Cisco Firepower systems
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPNs
  • Experience with security frameworks such as NIST Cybersecurity Framework or ISO 27001
  • Participate in an on call rotation
  • Work outside business hours as needed
  • CISSP, CISM, CEH, or other relevant certifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Networking, Python Programming, or related field (or combination of education and experience)
  • Familiarity with cloud-based security solutions (AWS/Azure/GCP) a plus
