Remote Environment Artist - Disney Animation Studios

We are seeking a highly skilled Environment Artist to join our team at Walt Disney Animation Studios, working remotely from British Columbia, Canada. As an Environment Artist, you will have the opportunity to work on the creation of immersive and engaging environments for our animated films, collaborating with a talented team of artists and designers.

Job Summary:

• Start Date: Immediate openings available
• Location: Remote (British Columbia, Canada)
• Compensation: Competitive salary ($30/hour)
• Company: Workwarp (partnering with Walt Disney Animation Studios)

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with resource managers and production designers to develop the look of our animated films
• Create high-quality environment assets, including models, textures, and procedural instancing
• Develop and implement natural vegetation and other environmental elements
• Work closely with the team to ensure consistent and high-quality final results

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in computer graphics, fine arts, or related field
• 2+ years of professional experience in environment look development
• Ability to understand, interpret, and implement highly stylized art direction
• Strong technical skills and attention to detail
• Experience working in a collaborative environment
• Knowledge of materials, procedural modeling, and digital painting
• Proficiency in Maya and Linux
• Understanding of the production pipeline and shader-writing (a plus)
• Character look development experience (an asset)
