Senior Business Development Specialist - B2B Retail & Design

In this dynamic role, you'll blend sales development, community building, and hands-on customer support to grow our professional customer base. You'll connect with new prospects, activate and grow business from existing accounts, and collaborate with in-store teams to bring large-scale projects to life. Key Responsibilities:

  • Grow the B2B business by building relationships with local Wayfair Professional customers through prospecting, cold calling, and community engagement
  • Engage local Wayfair Professional customers by promoting the value of our in-store experience and connecting them with our Design Specialists
  • Prospect net-new customers through online research, walk-ins, and cold outreach, and help them get started with Wayfair Professional
  • Build local partnerships with area business associations, real estate developers, and design industry organizations to drive growth and awareness
  • Coordinate events and identify opportunities for community engagement to showcase Wayfair's offerings and expertise
  • Support B2B projects in-store by acting as the go-to B2B expert for store teams and customers, and providing guidance on program questions and complex orders
  • Enable the team by educating associates on B2B tools, benefits, and workflows, and collaborating with in-store and virtual Sales teams to ensure a seamless customer experience

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of general sales experience with a proven track record of hitting or exceeding goals, preferably in B2B development or trade environments
  • 1-2 years of retail experience working with customers, ideally in high-touch or specialty sales settings
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport over the phone, in person, or via email
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify opportunities and drive growth
  • Familiarity with CRMs (Salesforce), POS systems, and productivity tools like Google Suite
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Flexible availability to work full-time, including peak business hours, and ability to travel locally as needed
