Senior Software Engineer - Amazon Robotics Autonomous Mobility

We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our Autonomous Mobility team, developing cutting-edge autonomy software for Amazon's first fully autonomous warehouse robot, Proteus. As a key member of our team, you'll collaborate with engineers and scientists to design, develop, and optimize our real-time multi-robotic simulation capabilities, onboard mapping, and localization software.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluating and integrating new sensors into the autonomy software stack
  • Developing sensor fusion strategies for obstacle detection and localization
  • Designing software for simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) shared across a robotic fleet
  • Developing machine-learning skills and infrastructure for robot perception and localization
  • Optimizing runtime performance of autonomy algorithms through exploiting underlying hardware acceleration capabilities
  • Building frameworks for large-scale replay and evaluation of events in pre-recorded sensor data
  • Building frameworks to monitor and control resource usage on embedded computing platforms
  • Building visualization tools for reading and debugging robotic behavior

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
