As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and reliability of our core communication applications – FaceTime, Phone, Messages, and Mail – which are foundational to the Apple ecosystem. You will have the opportunity to leverage your expertise to test the limits of our products, identify potential issues, and contribute to the development of robust and user-friendly software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Test Strategy & Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive test strategies and test plans for new and existing features across Apple's communication applications.

  • Manual Testing: Conduct thorough manual testing to identify defects, usability issues, and performance bottlenecks.
  • Defect Management: Reproduce, document, and track software defects using a bug tracking system, collaborating with engineering teams to ensure timely resolution.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify and assess potential risks associated with software releases and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements, provide feedback, and ensure alignment on quality goals.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes, methodologies, and tools.
  • Performance Testing: Participate in performance testing activities to ensure the scalability and responsiveness of our applications.
  • Regression Testing: Develop and execute regression test suites to ensure that new code changes do not introduce unintended issues.
  • Exploratory Testing: Perform exploratory testing to uncover unexpected issues and edge cases.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with a focus on testing communication applications (e.g., VoIP, messaging).
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycles (SDLC) and testing methodologies (Agile, Waterfall).
  • Proven ability to lead the testing efforts for a significant portion of an application or product.
  • Experience in creating test plans, developing test frameworks, and building automated test tools.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Swift, or similar, with a focus on UI applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively about potential areas of failure and to detail test cases accordingly.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic software development environment.
  • Highly analytical and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working in a remote environment and demonstrating self-motivation and time management.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with cloud-based testing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  • Experience with mobile testing (iOS and/or Android).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Gatling).
