Sr. Systems Development Engineer - Remote Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr. Systems Development Engineer to join our team. About the Role

We are utilizing AWS products to develop and enhance large-scale enterprise tools and services. As a Sr. Systems Development Engineer, you will work closely with internal stakeholders and product teams to design and develop remote compute and storage solutions that provide enterprise IT users with more choices. You will also build self-service platforms that enable our global workforce to work more efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop large-scale cloud infrastructure solutions using AWS products and DevOps practices
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and product teams to drive business and technical direction
• Develop and apply engineering standards, best practices, and procedures for the team
• Lead and participate in architecture and design discussions, code reviews, and implementation planning
• Build and maintain services that can scale across multiple continents for thousands of Amazonians worldwide

Requirements

• 3+ years of programming experience with at least one modern language (e.g., C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby)
• 3+ years of non-entry-level professional software development experience
• 3+ years of experience designing or architecting new and existing systems
• Experience driving the design, build, and deployment of complex and performant software solutions in production
• Understanding of infrastructure automation through code in an API-enabled environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle
• Experience automating and orchestrating systems using Desired State Configuration (DSC)
• Experience with PowerShell scripting language and supporting and automating large Windows Server installations
