Special Education Paraprofessional (PreK) - Immediate Opening

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Education Paraprofessional to provide instructional and support services to students in a PreK setting. As a key member of our team, you will work under the supervision of a teacher or other professional staff member to support the academic, behavioral, language, and physical needs of our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicate effectively with teachers, staff, support services, and students to ensure a collaborative and supportive learning environment
  • Maintain accurate records, including anecdotal notes and data recording, to inform instruction and support student progress
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote social interaction, acceptance, and inclusion of students within the school community
  • Assist students with daily activities, such as feeding, toileting, and recess, while maintaining a safe and respectful environment
  • Support students during emergency situations, drills, and field trips, and provide assistance as needed
  • Stay up-to-date on student IEP goals, medical needs, and limitations, and adapt instruction and support accordingly
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to modify materials and implement behavioral intervention plans as needed

Requirements:

  • Valid Paraprofessional License
  • Basic knowledge of technology and willingness to learn
  • Desire to work with students with special needs and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • CPI Certification (training provided by District 47)
