Responsibilities:

* Provide students with engaging learning activities and experiences in core academic subjects to foster intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. * Enable students to develop essential competencies and skills to succeed in society. * Implement the AVID program philosophy, supporting equity and access for all students. * Collaborate with AVID students, tutors, teachers, and campus personnel to articulate elective courses and promote college readiness. * Communicate regularly with parents and teachers regarding student progress. * Assist with staff development, campus activities, and tutor training.

Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree from an accredited university. * Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or training for subject and level assigned. * Demonstrated competency in core academic subjects.

Preferred Qualities:

* Strong student advocacy and commitment to the AVID program philosophy. * Excellent communication and collaboration skills. * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.

Working Conditions:

* Frequent standing, stooping, bending, pulling, and pushing. * Occasional movement of small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment.
