Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teacher II to join our team in Southern Pines, NC. As a Teacher II, you will play a vital role in developing and implementing individualized and group educational plans for preschool children, promoting social-emotional, physical, and cognitive growth. You will be responsible for creating a safe, healthy, and developmentally appropriate learning environment, building strong relationships with families, and ensuring program quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized and group lesson plans and educational activities to promote children's readiness for school.
  • Ensure a safe, healthy, and developmentally appropriate learning environment.
  • Build effective relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Maintain accurate records and confidentiality regarding children and families.
  • Plan, conduct, and document observations, assessments, and screenings.
  • Supervise Teacher Assistants and seek support from Program Aides and Volunteers.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of an Associate degree in child development, early childhood education, or a related field.
  • Professional proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate with individuals and teams.
  • Knowledge of Head Start/Early Head Start program.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish or English and other languages).
  • Birth-Kindergarten (B-K) Licensure preferred.
