Patient Care Aide - Aetna in Virginia Beach ($27-$35/hour)

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Patient Care Aide to join our team at Aetna in Virginia Beach. As a Patient Care Aide, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare providers. This is a full-time opportunity with a competitive salary range of $27-$35 per hour.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Rooming patients, taking vital signs, and documenting demographics, insurance, medical history, and test results in our electronic health record system (EPIC)
  • Performing point-of-care testing for various health conditions
  • Assisting with patient registration, managing the waiting room, and setting expectations for wait times
  • Providing clinical patient care within state guidelines and under the supervision of a MinuteClinic Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
  • Maintaining a clean and organized clinic environment, including exam rooms and waiting areas

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Recent experience in healthcare or completion of a relevant program (e.g., CNA, MA, EMT, PCT, Pharmacy Technician, Nursing Student)
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and excellent customer service skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A Basic Life Support certification from the American Red Cross or an approved provider

Preferred qualifications include experience with electronic health records (e.g., EPIC) and a high school diploma or equivalent.
