Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Appointment Scheduler to join our team at Carilion Clinic, a renowned healthcare organization dedicated to providing exceptional patient care and making a positive impact in our community. As a Patient Appointment Scheduler, you will play a vital role in coordinating appointments for patients across multiple specialty practices in western Virginia, ensuring seamless and efficient scheduling processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Schedule patients for appointments with multiple specialty practices across a wide geographic range
• Receive inbound calls and place outbound calls in a high-volume environment, utilizing critical thinking skills and excellent customer service skills
• Work collaboratively with diverse groups, including patients, families, and healthcare professionals, to provide exceptional patient experiences
• Demonstrate proficiency in medical terminology, Microsoft software applications, and typing skills (minimum 35 words per minute)

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree or continued administrative education preferred
• Three years of experience in customer service or call center positions, preferably in healthcare
• Excellent customer service skills, with ability to work with diverse groups under stressful conditions
• Effective multitasking, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
• Bilingual skills a plus
