Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal DevOps Engineer to lead our DevOps strategy, covering design, development of tools, practices, and culture. As a technical expert, you will contribute to enterprise-wide requirements, ensure adoption, and drive the organizational transformation in creating DevOps tooling, practices, and culture. Your expertise will focus on areas such as infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, security, and cost optimization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead DevOps strategy, covering design, development of tools, practices, and culture
  • Establish and implement DevOps best practices, including version control, code review, automated testing, and deployment methodologies
  • Design and manage infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or similar
  • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, CircleCI, or similar
  • Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure adherence to industry best practices and regulatory requirements
  • Monitor and analyze DevOps pipelines and processes, identifying areas for improvement and automation
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, trends, and best practices, making recommendations for adoption within the organization's DevOps environment
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior colleagues, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning

Requirements

  • Proven experience with at least 4 years of experience in DevOps data platform development, preferably in a senior or lead capacity
  • Experience working in cloud environments, GCP (preferred)/Azure/AWS, and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Proficiency in infrastructure as code concepts and tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) for automating resource provisioning and configuration
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipeline tools (e.g., Jenkins, CircleCI) and version control systems (e.g., Git)
  • Strong scripting skills in languages like Python, Bash, or similar
  • Solid problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex DevOps platform issues and provide effective solutions
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, Cloud Logging Solutions) to ensure application performance and system health
  • Knowledge of security best practices in DevOps, including experience with vulnerability scanning, compliance frameworks, and secure deployment practices
  • Leadership experience, including mentoring and guiding junior engineers, is a plus

Education

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or a related field
