Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Preschool Aid to join our team at Lutheran Services Florida in Largo, FL. As a Preschool Aid, you will play a vital role in supporting our teaching team in developing activities for preschool children, promoting parent involvement, and fostering a safe and healthy environment. Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the teacher in implementing approved curricula and activities in the classroom
• Guide and facilitate daily activities, field trips, and selecting and arranging equipment and materials in the classroom
• Cooperate with other staff and classroom groups to maintain the smooth functioning of the center
• Write weekly observations and use parent conferences to discuss the child's individual development and progress
• Assist in providing and maintaining a safe and healthy developmentally appropriate environment
• Support the teacher in ensuring that at least 80% of the children are kindergarten ready

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent and a National Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) or Florida Child Care Professional Certificate (FCCPC) for Pre-school or Infant/Toddler Endorsement
• Or Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related degree
