Senior Staff Engineer - Technology Financial Planning

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Staff Engineer to join our Technology Financial Planning team, where you will play a key role in driving our insurance business transformation. As a senior member of the engineering team, you will work across the organization to provide a seamless experience to the business, maintaining the highest standards of solution delivery and availability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and enhance solutions utilizing 3rd party financial planning systems and in-house systems to satisfy business requirements for Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to source data, create integrations, and capture scope for scalable and resilient distributed systems
• Lead design sessions and code reviews to elevate the quality of engineering across the organization
• Mentor other engineers, share best practices, and improve processes within and across teams
• Utilize programming languages like Python, Java, and database types like SQL, NoSQL, and OLAP to extract, load, transform, and analyze financial data

Requirements:

• 20+ years of experience working in IT or tech, with 15+ years of finance systems experience and 10+ years of engineering experience with financial planning systems
• Extensive hands-on experience with implementations and support of financial planning systems, such as Oracle EPM, Anaplan, Board, or Hyperion
• Strong understanding of accounting processes, management reporting philosophies, and data tools like Apache Spark, Airflow, and PowerBI
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience
