The Technology Infrastructure Engineering and Operations Team delivers and supports all the foundational technology used across M&T Bank. Supports Two Data Centers, 1 Service Desk, 32,000 End User Computing devices, 14,000 Distributed platforms, 24 Mainframe Regions and process approximately 635,000 automated jobs per month. In addition to that foundational technology level, we also own and deliver End User & Collaboration tools with a focus on Ease of Use for the individual employee. We deliver innovative, and compelling technology solutions to enhance the internal customer experience that enables our business partners to deliver. Function: Serves as technologist for an individual technology or set of technologies. Responsibilities:

  • Microsoft Exchange experience
  • Messaging experience
  • Microsoft SharePoint experience
  • Work closely with Technology management, more experienced Engineers, and support teams on a regular basis to implement and manage the design, development, and execution of technical solutions that meet or exceed current and future needs of the organization.
  • Responsibilities may include infrastructure review, implementation, and design, creation of support and architectural documentation, standards, policies, analysis, and testing.
  • Regularly and independently interact with business partners of varying associate and management levels to ensure clarity of the problem/opportunity and elicit business requirements.
  • Facilitate meetings and conference calls with vendors, internal staff, and senior professionals.
  • Mentor and coach less experienced engineers, technicians, and integrators. Review documentation, proposals, and changes proposed by less experienced staff.
  • Seek to expand knowledge and understanding of financial services trends, practices, and technologies on a continuous basis.
  • Follow and promote use of industry best practices, standards and procedures.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of specific systems and services supported by department.
  • Work with senior technical staff to understand, manage, and support elements of the Bank service catalog.
  • Understand and adhere to the Company's risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company's Risk Appetite.
  • Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
  • Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
  • Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
  • Complete other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Combined minimum of 5 years' higher education and/or work experience in systems design, management and/or architecture

Preferred Qualifications:

  • College degree
  • Minimum 5 years' professional experience in a technical engineering position involving infrastructure design technologies, data management and interchange, system design and / or development for complex applications
  • Ability to translate complex business and functional requirements into structured high quality implementations using any variety of industry standard approaches
  • Microsoft Exchange experience
  • Messaging experience
  • Knowledge of information governance and document retention in the context of eDiscovery and regulatory compliance
  • General understanding of Microsoft Windows and SQL Server technologies.
