Senior Software Engineer (Platform)

Job Title: Senior Software Engineer - Platform Location: Remote Job Type: Full-time

You will be part of the Platform team that is responsible for establishing the foundational patterns and central systems such as authentication, federated GraphQL, data orchestration and application architectures.

Your focus will be to deliver the GraphQL client and service development best practices, runtime tooling and architecture support necessary for teams across the Engineering department at LottieFiles to build exceptional clients, services and systems.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge of GraphQL in a distributed system, service development, DevOps practices and support.

• Ensure services are developed to industry best practices, including observability, architectural patters and inter-team dependency mechanisms

• Drive high-impact solutions at a team level, including inception, design, execution and delivery following good design and coding practices

• Write code to implement high-quality, scalable, future-proof features that solve platform level problems and support long term vision and strategy

• Participate in technical discussions within and across teams to come up with documented conclusions

• Identify risks and gaps in technical approaches and propose solutions to meet the teams’ technical vision

• Work closely with product managers, designers and service teams to define project requirements and execution plans

Requirements

• At least 5 year of proven development experience in a leading / ownership role (must have)

• Hands-on experience delivering software within high-growth environments at scale

• Experienced in designing and building large-scale, cloud-based systems across various projects

• Experience operating distributed services at scale, including familiarity with observability tools, logging techniques, troubleshooting, and incident response.

• Excellent communication skills with demonstrated experience driving solutions forward and ability to influence results

• Proficient in JavaScript and TypeScript, with experience developing applications using current frontend / backend frameworks

• Experience with one or more common open source platforms, tools and framework, eg: GraphQL, Node.js, React, Kubernetes, etc.

• Experience with GraphQL, Federated Gateways is a plus

• You are able to work and thrive in a fully remote environment

• Excellent communicator (important for a remote team) in English
