Position Overview

We are seeking a talented and experienced Manager of Systems Engineering to join our team and lead our efforts within India. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a team of systems engineers, driving the technical strategy for our clients in India, and ensuring the successful implementation of complex technology solutions. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the market in India, strong leadership skills, and a passion for driving innovation. You’llbe responsible for aligning technical pre-sales efforts with strategic sales goals, mentoring the SE team, supporting key accounts, and ensuring technical excellence in all customer engagements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of presales systems engineers, providing guidance and supportcomplex solution selling.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and product teams to develop and implement a technical strategy tailored to the unique needs of the India market.
  • Serve as a technical advisor to clients, offering expertise and guidance on technology solutions that align with their objectives and requirements.
  • Develop and execute a regional pre-sales strategy aligned with India sales goals.
  • Represent Extreme’s technical value in C-level and strategic customer conversations.
  • Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the systems engineering team, promoting growth and professional advancement.
  • Technical Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Sales Engineering or Pre-Sales roles.
  • 2+ years in a leadership or management capacity, preferably in a networking vendor environment.
  • Deep expertise in enterprise networking (Layer 2/3, VLANs, OSPF, BGP), wireless (Wi-Fi 6/6E), and cloud-managed platforms.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills in English; ability to lead customer-facing conversations at both technical and executive levels.
  • Vendor certifications that demonstrate expertise in networking, wireless technologies, access control and cloud are highly preferred
  • Soft Skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Customer-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Collaborative approach when working with internal teams and external partners.
