Regional Operation Specialist

Remote, USA Full-time Posted 2026-06-16

The team

  • The EU organisation at Deliveroo comprises the markets of the United Kingdom & Ireland, France, Italy and Belgium—our most mature markets. Functions include Commercial, Operations and Marketing, and these teams partner closely with global functions such as Product, Technology and Consumer to deliver results for our customers.

The EU Regional Operations team acts as a centre of excellence at Deliveroo; responsible for the hyperlocal availability, reliability and efficiency of the delivery network across the European organisation. This includes fleet size planning, network management, logistics, incentives and rider pricing.

    The role

Running large-scale operations in a fast-growing and highly competitive environment is a complex and demanding challenge. As such, you'll be faced with some of the most exciting problems in the food tech space. Reporting to the Head of Regional Operations, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of the logistics network across Europe by driving operational excellence and strategic initiatives within your region.

Your primary focus will be on providing strong leadership and strategic direction within your region, enabling you with the autonomy and support to excel in your role. You will develop and execute strategic plans at both national and hyperlocal levels, ensuring alignment with the company's goals and objectives. Additionally, you will oversee the operational budget for your region, ensuring sustainable growth while meeting key performance and service indicators. This may include influencing rider behaviours through incentive design, app visibility, and regional pricing strategies.

Collaboration is key in this role. You will work closely with other members of the EU Operations team, as well as wider teams within Global Operations, our Technology stack and Product Development, to ensure the best possible outcomes for our riders, restaurants, and customers. This role will involve significant cross-functional collaboration, including working with Supply, Rider Pricing, Content, Engagement, and Network teams to develop regional and national initiatives.

    What you’ll be doing

    • Strategic Planning & Execution:

      • Develop and implement a consistent framework and set of playbooks for standardisation and stakeholder interactions (e.g. quarterly planning, incident escalation, commercial onboarding).

      • Oversee the development and execution of hyperlocal strategic plans tailored to your region.

      • Manage the operational budget for your region, ensuring sustainable growth and meeting operational and service KPIs.

      • Monitor and analyse key performance indicators, providing strategic plans at a hyperlocal level to achieve targets.

      • Leverage operational and commercial data to identify patterns, prioritise actions, and validate the impact of regional initiatives.

      • Establish best practices and cross-pollinate ways of working into other regions/markets.

    • Cross-Functional Collaboration:

      • Work closely with EU Operations teams, including Supply, Rider Pricing, Content, Engagement, and Network teams, to develop regional and national initiatives.

      • Treat regional Commercial teams as internal customers, providing operational excellence and rider supply expertise.

      • Support growth and enable commercial teams to thrive, ensuring an appropriate reporting and update cadence including performance overviews and emerging issues.

      • Act as a key connector between central strategy and local execution, ensuring market nuances are reflected in broader operational initiatives.

    • Subject Matter Expertise:

      • Act as a subject matter expert in specific business areas, driving greater cross-team collaboration and streamlining interactions with other teams, such as Product and Global teams.

    Requirements

    • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in operations management, preferably in a logistics or food delivery environment.

    • Leadership: Proven experience in managing and developing high-performing teams.

    • Strategic Thinking: Strong ability to think strategically and execute plans effectively.

    • Budget Management: Experience in managing operational budgets and driving financial performance.

    • Collaboration: Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with various stakeholders.

    • Analytical Skills: Very strong analytical skills, with the ability to monitor and analyse performance metrics.

    • Technical Skills: Comfortable with data platforms, operational tooling, and acting as the Operations SME in both live projects and business-as-usual environments.

    • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    Preferred, but not required

    • Experience with forecasting and modelling.

    • Working knowledge of data visualisation tools (e.g. Tableau, Looker, Periscope). SQL is a plus.
