Job Locations US-VA-Smithfield US-MO-Kansas City US-IL-Lisle Your Opportunity The Data Protection Manager is responsible for implementing operational oversight of the controls required to support the security of Smithfield FoodÂs Confidential Business Information. The position aims to provide highly skilled technical and information security expertise for developing and implementing the cybersecurity data protection program. A qualified candidate will support the establishment, execution, and maintenance of a cybersecurity data protection framework and process. They will identify confidential business information processed, stored, and accessed on electronic assets, protect the data, and work with security operations staff to detect unauthorized and malicious use of said data. Partnering with IT infrastructure and Data Management teams to implement technical controls for protecting SmithfieldÂs structured and unstructured data while in transit and at rest. Salary Range $114,500 - $167,750 Core Responsibilities- Provide guidance, insights, and direction on technological, cybersecurity, and policy-related topics.
- Manage cybersecurity services specific to data protection, including but not limited to:
- Data classification
- Data Loss Prevention
- Data Labeling/Tagging Platform
- Data Mapping and identification solutions
- Offer subject-matter-expertise in the discipline of data protection to cybersecurity operational teams, central technology engineering groups, enterprise architecture, compliance, and privacy colleagues
- Drive adoption of secure hardening and configuration practices in the systems security deployment cycle throughout central technology and line of business technical engineering teams, worldwide
- Supply consultancy for secure system design, development, engineering, and operation
- Maintain program budget and financials as well as program communications
- Identify and help implement continuous cybersecurity process enhancements/improvements
- Coordinate resources (staff, equipment, vendors, and consultants) across projects, manage the budget for assigned project(s), monitor project progress (risks
- Prepare and present KPIs reflecting the performance of the program for management and ensure technologies are appropriately integrated to support the goals of the Enterprise Cybersecurity Program
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in cybersecurity, computer science, information technology, business, information security, and 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity or related IT field, or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
- Minimum of 2+ years experience in a position of leadership to include team development and management, required.
- Cyber risk managementexperience preferred.
- Knowledge of information security data protection frameworks and compliance practices.
- Knowledge of securing network technologies, endpoint, and server operating systems.
- Ability to develop security standards and guidelines based on best practices and industry standards
- Understanding of common security standards and regulations (e.g., NIST, PCI DSS, HIPAA, ISO2700x, etc.)
- Skills in the management of data protection technologies, including but not limited to Data Analytics Platforms, Data Loss Prevention, and Data Labeling/Tagging technologies
- Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment
