Job Title: Remote Mortgage Underwriter (Pacific Time Zone) Job Summary As a Remote Mortgage Underwriter based in the Pacific time zone, you will play a crucial role in our lending process. Your responsibilities will include evaluating mortgage applications, assessing risks, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. Reporting to the Mortgage Underwriting Team Lead, you will contribute to the success of our organization by maintaining high standards of accuracy and efficiency. Key Responsibilities • Review and underwrite mortgage loan files in accordance with established guidelines and regulations. • Assess risks associated with various types of mortgages, including self-employment income and renovation loans. • Analyze financial documents to determine loan eligibility and repayment capacity. • Proactively monitor the mortgage pipeline to identify and address any issues that may arise. • Collaborate with management and team members to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency. • Stay updated on industry developments and regulatory changes to ensure compliance. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or related field preferred. • Minimum of seven years of mortgage underwriting experience in a financial institution. • Strong analytical and decision-making skills. • Excellent communication and organizational abilities. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and loan origination systems. Environmental / Physical / Mental Requirements • Stable internet connection and smartphone with current iOS/Android OS. • Ability to work effectively in a remote environment.
