Job title: Project Management Assistant Program Manager in Edwards, CA at Sierra Lobo Company: Sierra Lobo Job description: Overview:The Sierra Lobo Rocket Technology and Engineering Services II (RTES II) contract provides advise and assist services (A&AS) at the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) at Edwards AFB, California. AFRL conducts rocket propulsion research, as well as developing associated test processes and facilities.The Project Management Assistant Program Manager supports the AFRL Program Manager in overseeing and directing multiple programs related to the organization's infrastructure services. This role requires a strong background in program management support, business analysis (including financial acumen), and process management. A desired interest in process improvement is strongly desired. The Assistant Program Manager will assist with cross-functional team coordination, budget tracking, program reporting, and process optimization. This role provides an opportunity to develop program management skills and contribute to the successful delivery of critical infrastructure services.Sierra Lobo, offers customers a full range of professional and technical capabilities, including Test and Evaluation, Systems Engineering, and Advanced Technologies. We also develop products and processes related to Cryogenic Fluid and Thermal Management Systems, Densified Propellant Management Systems, and Prototype Extreme Pressure and Temperature Systems. Our customers include the Department of Defense (DoD), the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, Missile Defense Agency (MDA), and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).This position will be located at Edwards AFB, CA.EOE/Minority/Female/Disabled/Veteran Responsibilities:RESPONSIBILITIES:The successful candidate will perform, but is not limited to, the following activities:
  • Program Support and Coordination:
  • Assist the Gov’t Program Manager in developing and maintaining program plans, including scope, objectives, timelines, and budgets.
  • Support program resource tracking and allocation.
  • Track program progress and performance against established metrics and prepare reports for the Program Manager.
  • Assist in identifying and mitigating program risks and issues.
  • Prepare program status updates and presentations.
  • Financial Analysis and Reporting:
  • Support the development and management of program budgets.
  • Track program expenditures and analyze variances.
  • Assist in preparing financial reports for the Program Manager and senior management.
  • Process Analysis and Improvement Support:
  • Assist in analyzing existing infrastructure service delivery processes and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Support the development and implementation of process optimization and improvement initiatives.
  • Document process improvements and track their impact.
  • Stakeholder Communication and Coordination:
  • Support communication and coordination with key stakeholders across the organization.
  • Assist in preparing stakeholder updates and addressing their inquiries.
  • Team Support and Collaboration:
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration within program teams.
  • Assist in organizing team meetings and documenting action items.
Qualifications:REQUISITE SKILLS:
  • Solid understanding of project management principles.
  • Basic understanding of DoD financial management principles.
  • Experience with business process management is desirable.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Pursuing or interest in obtaining PMP or other relevant certifications is a plus.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ Years Experience in project management, program coordination or project support is preferred.
  • Position may require occasional travel.
  • On Site Work. Telework or Remote Work is not permitted.
  • Flex schedule 9/80.
  • MUST be a United States Citizen.
  • MUST possess or obtain a DoD security clearance.
