Job description: The Virtual Special Education Lead Teacher (.50) will utilize strategies and theories to plan, organize and implement structured lessons to provide instruction for students that enable them to learn and achieve.Performance Responsibilities:
- Instruct students through lectures, discussions, visual aids, and other effective teaching methods for student comprehension
- Prepares lessons and outlines to use in class that effectively cover the material
- Administers the state and local standardized testing processes and policies
- Plans, prepare and implements online instructional activities and strategies that contribute to a climate where students actively engage in meaningful learning experiences.
- Identifies, selects and modifies instructional resources to meet the needs of students with varying backgrounds, learning styles and special needs, using data and findings from assessments, observations, and course statistics.
- Provides a positive environment in which students are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning process.
- Provides clear expectations and prompt responses to student and parent questions and concerns.
- Administers various types of assessments to monitor student's comprehension of content in an online environment.
- Monitors students in the virtual classroom by maintaining order and discipline.
- Performs various administrative duties virtually such as attendance, organizing the classroom, and recording grades.
- Coordinates parent/teacher conferences to review student's performance, behavior and other issues.
- Attend faculty meetings and training sessions.
- Integrates social emotional learning (SEL) within the curriculum.
- Required to have prompt, regular attendance in-person or virtually and be available to work on-site, in-person during regular business hours, and as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned by an appropriate administrator or their representative.
