This 307-bed facility is the largest community healthcare provider between Worcester and Boston and is distinguished by its inclusion on the 2019 America’s 100 Best Hospitals List by Healthgrades.Position Summary: The Med Surg/Telemetry RN provides direct, high-quality clinical patient care, ensuring comprehensive assessment, planning, and implementation on a shift basis. The RN supervises staff to whom care is delegated and supports the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) in maintaining safe and effective nursing practices, ensuring the competency of clinical staff, and managing resources appropriately. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, effectively communicate, and act as a role model and advocate for the nursing profession.Key Responsibilities:
  • Clinical Practice: Deliver patient care in line with established standards, covering all aspects from assessment to intervention and evaluation. Proficiencies include organizing work, setting priorities, decision-making, IV therapy, and EKGs.
  • Leadership: Delegate tasks effectively to maintain efficient workflow, contribute to the hiring process, participate in evaluations, resolve conflicts, and ensure nurse-patient ratios are met. Engage in hospital committees and staff meetings to maintain current practices.
  • Documentation: Maintain complete and accurate documentation per hospital and legal guidelines, ensuring timely and correct transcription of physician orders.
  • Communication: Foster collaboration with healthcare team members, patients, and families. Serve as a patient advocate and ensure patient care needs are addressed promptly.
  • Education and Training: Stay updated with nursing practices and technologies. Provide education to patients/families and act as a preceptor to support the development of team members.
Qualifications:
  • Licensure: Current RN license in the state of Massachusetts.
  • Certification: BLS certification required.
  • Experience: Med Surg experience preferred. New graduates welcome, training provided.
  • Skills: Strong interpersonal abilities; bilingual in Spanish/English is a plus.
Additional Requirements:
  • Successful candidates must pass a background check and drug screening.
