For additional information on remote work at Penn State, see .JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTSThe Palmer Museum of Art at Penn State is seeking a part-time Visitor Services Associate. This is a front-line position responsible for establishing initial interactions with visitors to the museum to ensure that all feel welcome, supported, and informed about museum offerings. Visitor Service Associates are responsible for checking visitors in, informing visitors about museum policies and current activities, promoting museum membership, assisting with wayfinding, and conducting visitor surveys. Visitor Services Associates also provide services as necessary to accommodate groups and persons with disabilities; perform additional customer service duties as assigned for museum events and projects; and assist visitors with Penn State-based inquiries and wayfinding as needed.Availability for weekend shift(s) of 11am-5pm on Saturdays and/or Sundays are required in addition to availability for 10-12 hours per week Wednesdays and Fridays, 11am-5pm, and Thursdays 11am-8pm. Projected weekly hours will total 12-18.Minimum qualifications: 1-2 years of experience in a customer service role. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including sensitivity to multiculturalism and diversity. Ability to work with a wide variety of people, including students, faculty, staff, community members, and volunteers. Experience with Microsoft Office365, SharePoint, Excel, and Word.
